Year 10 Market Stall & Subject Information (Year 11 2016)

All parents and caregivers of Year 10 students are invited to attend an information evening in the school Hall (MPC) on Wednesday 3 June 2015 commencing at 6 pm.  The meeting is to provide information on the preliminary HSC (Year 11) and the HSC (Year 12).  It is an important opportunity for you to review and clarify information on patterns of study and the requirements and procedures of the HSC.

Year 10 students have had comprehensive information on senior studies and courses offered in the senior years through their Careers lessons and regular classes.  Each student has received a “Preliminary Year and HSC Year Course Information” booklet.  This provides valuable information concerning all aspects of the HSC including the full range of courses available to our students at Lambton High or any one of four TAFE campuses in the Newcastle area.  It would be helpful if you could bring this booklet with you on the evening.

It is essential that students discuss their course choices with their Head Teachers, the Careers Adviser and their parents, and that they make realistic choices in terms of their interests and abilities. The meeting is aimed at helping parents understand the requirements of the senior school and ensuring that they are fully aware of the study patterns available to students. Head teachers and teachers of each faculty will be in attendance to talk to parents individually during the faculty “Market Stall” session (6.45 – 7.30) at the beginning of the evening.

If you need information or require an interview with any school personnel concerning senior course selections, contact the school to arrange an appointment.  We look forward to your attendance at this special evening and feel sure that it will assist you in providing guidance to your son or daughter as they embark on the next phase of their school life.
